Serving as an WWF India Ambassador for Mangrove Conservation
In 2022, I was selected as one of the Magical Mangroves Ambassadors by WWF-India for their initiative, Magical Mangroves.
WWF-India (World Wildlife Fund-India) in association with Godrej Boyce Mfg Ltd & Co. organized this program called “Magical Mangroves” to engage citizens to recognize the importance of Mangrove Forests, their environmental impact, how it impacts our lives and the future of the planet by conducting awareness sessions for various schools, colleges, and universities as a part of this movement.
As a part of this initiative, I worked on raising awareness of mangrove forest biodiversity, importance and conservation with a special personal focus on ties to the diversity of coexisting flora+fauna, community welfare, innovation, and water and air quality improvement.
In my one year of being in the position, I’ve had the pleasure of conducting in-person awareness sessions for almost 2000 school students who have responded very positively with a lot of curiosity and enthusiasm. I was also selected as “Best Ambassador” of the program in my state of residence, Tamil Nadu and for which a gave a talk about how I approached my role and implementation at the closing ceremony of that year’s program
